Abby later showed her Shih Tzu, Monty, to an AKC obedience title and then began doing canine education through the Washington Humane Society in inner city schools. Abby also successfully showed her standard poodle, Eli, in the AKC conformation ring. She has always been very active in rescue, acting as a transporter and foster for local rescues.
